Candy Cane Heart Lollipops

Yesterday was a good day to pretend that I was caught up on housework and do something fun with my kids.

We used up all of our leftover candy canes! We had a bunch of full-sized candy canes and we snapped the curved part off to make the heart. The rest of the candy cane we sealed in ziploc bags for another project on another day. (It involves sticks and marshmallows, my kids are looking forward to that one too.) Anyways, here's what we did. We put a package of almond bark in my Pampered Chef batter bowl and popped it into the microwave until it melted. Then lined a cookie sheet with wax paper, made a heart out of two candy canes, spooned in the almond bark and then added the stick and some pretty sprinkles. It was that simple! I got the kids started and then they were able to make some all by themselves. It was so fun! I scored some major "awesome-mommy" points!

Not only are they cute, but they are yummy too!

Here's where I found the instructions. I just re-read them, and uh... oops, I popped mine in the freezer for a few minutes to ensure they were hardened, the instructions say not to. They look fine so far. And I guess I'm going to store them in the freezer until we serve them at the Super Bowl Party, and I'm going to pretend that I never read that tidbit and surely my guests will pretend too. :)
